Alexa and Cecilia first met as classmates at the University of Michigan during the fall of 2014. They were both working on their graduate degrees and had to take a class, fondly referred to as “baby therapy” that only had a handful of students. While nothing blossomed during this course, Alexa did tell her best friend and Matron of Honor, Alexa, that she felt a “vibe” with another classmate. Fast forward four years, a couple mutual house parties and a puppy sitting fiasco later, Alexa and Cecilia ended up at the same Fourth of July Party in 2018. Neither of them were seeing anyone at the time, and the fireworks must have reignited the spark Alexa had felt in class in 2014. They reconnected on a friendlier level than before 😉 Ever since their first hangout, where they watched their new mutual guilty pleasure — “Love Island,” they knew they had something special. They spent that summer getting to know each other better and eventually falling in love! Like many other couples who started dating just before the pandemic, Alexa and Cecilia moved in together in 2020 to create their own “bubble." Unlike many other couples, it was a success! After living together for a few months, Alexa transferred to Miami for work and she and Cecilia made their first cross-country move together. After a year in their new home, Cecilia decided to pop the question in July of 2021 and… Alexa said yes! Together with their families and closest friends, they celebrated with a fun-filled pool weekend in Miami. Shortly after, the wedding planning began. But there was one thing left to do before wedding planning could take off: Alexa proposed to Cecilia on top of a mountain after a helicopter ride at sunset, an amazing nod to their mutual love of reality dating shows. They are both so excited to say their vows with all of you in attendance and celebrate their love and future together ❤️
